​As part of microprudential supervision, Banco de Cabo Verde is responsible for supervising and regulating pension funds, promoting the establishment, review and disclosure of prudential, accounting and financial rules, as well as guidelines and policies that pension fund management companies they are required to observe when they operate in the financial sector.

Also, in the area of regulation, authorization and registration, Banco de Cabo Verde is responsible for ruling on authorization applications for setting up, amendments to articles of association and the internal control system of pension fund management companies.
