14/01/2026 In 2022, economic, social and cultural activity in Cape Verde returned to normal levels, as mobility restrictions in place since 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic were fully lifted. This normalization is reflected in the activity of the national payment system. Transaction volumes processed through Integrated Interbank Clearing and Settlement System (SICIL) increased significantly, with retail payment operations recording a 21.2 percent growth in volume compared to the previous year. In absolute terms, an additional 6,561,895 transactions were processed in 2022, highlighting the recovery in economic activity and the increased use of electronic payment instruments. Partilhar
