The Deposit Guarantee Fund invests its resources in financial transactions by means of an investment plan agreed with Banco de Cabo Verde. If the financial resources of the Deposit Guarantee Fund prove insufficient to fulfill its obligations (namely, if the amount to be paid by the Deposit Guarantee Fund to reimburse the deposits of one or more of its participating credit institutions is greater than the amount of financial resources available), the Deposit Guarantee Fund may charge special contributions to participating institutions or get loans, namely from the Public Treasury and Banco de Cabo Verde.
